# Google Vertex AI (Claude) — Bring Your Own Key

Use Claude from your own Google Cloud project. AnyRouter calls Claude on Vertex AI with your service account, so Google bills you directly.

## Get your API key

1. In the [Google Cloud console](https://console.cloud.google.com/vertex-ai/model-garden), open the **Model Garden**, find Claude and enable the models you want.
2. Create a service account with the **Vertex AI User** role and download its JSON key.
3. Paste the service-account JSON into AnyRouter. To pick a region, add a `"region"` field (for example `"us-east5"`); the default is `"global"`.

## Gotchas

Claude models newer than Sonnet 4.6 are only served on `global` and multi-region locations, so a single-region key works for older models only. Regional endpoints cost 10% more than global on Google Cloud.

## Add it to AnyRouter

1. Go to **[Dashboard → BYOK](https://anyrouter.dev/dashboard/byok)**.
2. Find **Google Vertex AI (Claude)** under **Available** and click **Add key**.
3. Paste your key into the **API key** field.
4. Click **Save**. AnyRouter runs a live validation call against Google Vertex AI (Claude) before storing the key — if it fails, the dialog shows the upstream error and the key isn't saved.
