# EmpirioLabs AI (BYOK)

> Create an API key for EmpirioLabs AI and add it to AnyRouter.


# EmpirioLabs AI — Bring Your Own Key

Route requests through your own EmpirioLabs AI account ([BYOK](/features/byok)); no platform credits are charged. You need a API key string.

## Get your API key

1. Sign in at [EmpirioLabs AI](https://platform.empiriolabs.ai/).
2. Open the [dashboard](https://platform.empiriolabs.ai/dashboard) and create an API key.
3. Copy the key (it starts with `sk-empiriolabs-`) and keep it for the **API key** field below.

## Gotchas

EmpirioLabs' terms bar routing subscription-plan traffic through an aggregator and sharing keys, so use a pay-as-you-go key, which has no such limit. The key is never added to the shared pool.

## Add it to AnyRouter

1. Open **[Dashboard → BYOK](https://anyrouter.dev/dashboard/byok)**, find **EmpirioLabs AI** under **Available** and click **Add key**.
2. Paste the key.
3. Click **Save**. AnyRouter validates the key against EmpirioLabs AI first; on failure the dialog shows the upstream error and nothing is saved.
