# apmix — Bring Your Own Key

Route requests through your own apmix account ([BYOK](/features/byok)); no platform credits are charged. You need a API key string.

## Get your API key

1. Sign in to [apmix](https://apmix.ai) and open your API key.
2. Copy the key (it starts with `apx_live_`).
3. Keep it for the **API key** field below.

## Gotchas

apmix bills from your own weighted-token plan allowance. The same key works on the OpenAI-compatible (`https://api.apmix.ai/v1`) and Anthropic-compatible (`https://api.apmix.ai`) base URLs. Its terms bar reselling access or sharing a key, so the key is never added to the shared pool.

## Add it to AnyRouter

1. Open **[Dashboard → BYOK](https://anyrouter.dev/dashboard/byok)**, find **apmix** under **Available** and click **Add key**.
2. Paste the key.
3. Click **Save**. AnyRouter validates the key against apmix first; on failure the dialog shows the upstream error and nothing is saved.

- Create key: [apmix console](https://apmix.ai)
- Default base URL (editable on the key form): `https://api.apmix.ai/v1`
